Garden Gate Events is an event consultancy firm specializing in creating your distinctive one of a kind event, party or wedding. Our keen eye for detail coupled with a commitment to our clients is the hallmark of our company. We create specialized and memorable events that are unique to each client. We are passionate about our work, our clients and our company. No detail or event is too small to be left unconsidered. We will take your vision and turn it into a spectacular affair.


Liz Horton- Founder and Director

Liz is a native of the Upperville/Middleburg area in Northern Virginia.  She grew up riding, fox hunting and participating in many of the attendant social events for which the Virginia “Hunt Country” is famous.  Fine entertaining and the traditions of flower arranging, decorating and hosting social events are part of her upbringing and the fabric of life there. Liz has lived in California for over twenty-five years.

Our History

The Garden Gate was founded in 1989 when Liz Horton planned and coordinated a wedding as “a favor” for a friend.  For the next 10 years, Liz and her associates designed flowers for weddings, parties and gala events. As clients began asking her to plan their events from start to finish, The Garden Gate’s focus began to shift from floral design into event planning.  In 2002 The Garden Gate become Garden Gate Events. Now more than twenty years later, Garden Gate Events is proud to continue to plan special and distinctive events for our loyal client base.
